Advisory Board
The mission of the Professional Writing Advisory Board is to ensure continuity and consistency between the goals of the Professional Writing Program and the needs of the community. The Professional Writing Advisory Board is comprised of community and industry leaders who advise the program in the development of curricula and certification.
In addition, the Professional Writing Advisory Board advises the Professional Writing Program on policy development and strategic planning. Members of the Board facilitate outreach through their professional networks and support the program with opportunities for internships, community-based projects, and other professional development possibilities.
Members of the Professional Writing Advisory Board volunteer their time and service without monetary compensation. Reward for their knowledge and interest comes through participation in the development of Southwest Washington ’s future leaders. Through their efforts they help ensure that students in the Professional Writing Program graduate with the proven communication and problem-solving skills needed to achieve success whether they will write as part of their professions or work as professional writers.
