Research Colloquium

In 2007, the Center launched the campus’ only intercollegiate research colloquium.

The CSEJ Research Colloquium has hosted 34 WSU faculty research presentations, from the Colleges of AHNRS, Business, Education, Liberal Arts, Nursing and Science, in addition to five graduate students and one undergraduate research fellow.

Beginning in 2009, in an attempt to forge new community-based research collaborations, the colloquium was broadened to include presentations by 5 NGOs, two government agencies and members of the Cowlitz Tribal Council, speaking to the research needs and interests of their constituents.

In Spring 2009, the colloquium was formally connected with HUM 301, serving as an incubator for a new course on "Globalization and the University," with a tenth day enrollment of 29 students, including majors in Biology, General Studies, Humanities, Marketing, and Mechanical Engineering.
